We went to the Melting Pot for New Year’s Eve, because fondue and NYE just kind of go hand in hand… well, all of the waiters and waitresses had on 1920’s outfits, it was really neat to see all the inspo that night in their outfits. Shelbee from Shelbee on the Edge was kind enough to invite me to be the co-host for The Fab 40’s and today we are doing The Fab 40’s Meet the Roaring 20’s! Bring the 1920’s into the 2020’s!

Be sure to SCROLL down to the bottom of this post, to check out a GIVEAWAY I have going on with 4 other bloggers. The giveaway is for Starking Watches, 2 face masks, foot masks, an eye mask for sleeping, earrings, scrunchies, Season 8 of Game of Thrones on DVD and the contents of 2 Gentlemen’s boxes! There will also be 6 second place winners that receive a Starking Watch!

Now, back to The Fab 40’s!!!

The Fab 40’s is a group of five stylish fashion bloggers from around the globe. Each month they choose a different theme and invite a guest blogger also in their forties to join us. This group’s goal is to take on style trends and show how we each interpret and incorporate them into our own lives. With six widely varied views, you are certain to find something that speaks to you each month and encourages you to continue to have fun with fashion after 40.

So, how did I bring the 1920’s into the 2020’s for my outfit? Well, it seems (to me) that a lot of the 1920 trends are still trendy now. Neutrals are still BIG right now as are metallics (give me all the gold, baby!). Glitzy headbands and barrettes are still popular in the 2020’s. And, a bold red lip will never go out of style. Now, I don’t know about elbow length satin gloves, BUT… I couldn’t resist! My daughter is in competitive dance and she’s always wearing satin gloves (and, I have to use roll on glue to keep them on!). And, fringe skirts… yes, these are so fun to wear, especially if you have a night out of dancing planned. I have on a pair of nude fishnet tights (which, I don’t think you can see in these photos), but I still enjoy wearing my fishnets. And, a faux fur shawl is perfect on a snowy night. After doing this challenge I thought, wow… it is amazing how so many trends hold throughout the years! Now, this outfit may be little over the top for the 2020’s, but I see so many of the same trends still!

Shelbee from Shelbee on the Edge

Outfit Details: Faux Fur Coat-Gift from Husband (Thrifted), Blazer-Talbots (Thrifted), Blouse-Loft (Thrifted), Pants-Old Navy, Shoes-Franco Sarto (These are about 15 years old), Belt, Ankle Socks, Earrings, and some necklaces-So old I don’t remember where they came from, some were thrifted, Headband-Target, Cameo brooch on headband-Etsy, Gloves-Gift from Sister (Thrifted)

Shelbee did so well with her outfit and I love that it is WARM and stylish! Everything she used for this look is old and already from her closet, which was perfect for this theme! I really love all of her layers with the pop of the bright blazer, the layered necklaces and that nice warm fur coat!

Dee of Dee Sayz

Outfit Details: Bead Dress: Trendy Diva, Suede Shrug: Cover Story, Neck Fur: Local Market, Cap: Local Market, Pumps: Zara

Dee really made her 1920’s look work for the 2020’s! I love the glittery beading on her purple dress and the fur trim on her suede shrug. So many great details!

Suzy of Suzy Turner Books & Style

Outfit Details: Black palazzo pants: Next (from eBay), Floral velvet jacket: Stradivarius, New shoes: Ruby Shoo, Black blouse: old, Clutch: inherited from my late step-mother-in-law, Necklace, bracelet and ring:, Gifts from mother-in-law, Earrings: old, Faux fur ‘scarf’: the removable neckpiece from another coat!

Suzy is rocking this 1920’s to 2020’s look! Those wide palazzo pants are so chic and I love the statement her necklace gives the outfit. That floral jacket is velvet, which gives the outfit a rich and polished look. And, how cool that she thought to add the removable faux fur from another coat as a piece to finish off this look! Brilliant!

Daenel of Living Outside the Stacks

Daniel took this look above and beyond with different textures, patterns, etc. And, check out those boots- what a statement!

Sheela of Sheelah Writes

Sheelah shares this gorgeous blush take on bringing the 1920’s into the 2020’s. I just adore her necklaces and check out those fabulous shoes!!!
